Counselors

Qualified counselors are 18 and over, love working with kids, enjoy the outdoors, feel called to serve in a Christian community, have a positive work ethic, have a mindset that welcomes diversity and inclusion, are available to work most weeks in the months of June and July, and LOVE TO HAVE FUN!!

Counselors can fill many roles at camp including, but not limited to: mentor, dance teacher, music leader, belayer, lifeguard, photographer, art teacher, environmental educator, archery instructor, athletics coach, drama coach, Bible study leader, behind the scenes program set-up and maintenance, and first aid provider.

We need all kinds of Counselors at Crestfield, because at Crestfield, we have all kinds of campers.

Counselor perks include: housing on site for the summer, meals provided during work hours, and a weekly stipend that starts at $300 per camp week with incremental increases for experience and camp related competencies.  

Counselors are required to have all three of their PA child protection clearances on file and to be First Aid/CPR certified.  We will provide a no cost opportunity for First Aid/CPR training during staff training week.  

Camp Medics

Ideal camp medics are 25 and over, love working with kids, have training and experience in a medical profession, are CPR/First Aid certified, are comfortable in a caregiver role, have a safe driving record and a vehicle they can transport campers in, and are available to be on site for at least one entire week of camp.  

The camp medic role involves: keeping our medical supply cart stocked and up to date, responding to camper and staff injuries and illnesses, being stationed near campers when athletic activities are scheduled,  driving or accompanying campers and staff to urgent care as needed, and tracking and dispensing camper medications.  Camp Medics who are interested in helping with other aspects of camp are welcome and encouraged to do so provided that those other duties do not interfere with their primary responsibilites.  

Camp Medic compensation may be negotiated to some degree based on need, but generally includes an honorarium, heavily discounted registration for their kids at camp, OR free room and board for family members wish to join them at camp for the week.  We are also open to applicants who want to work the entire summer and be added to our payroll.  

Camp Medics are required to have all three of their PA child protection clearances on file and to be First Aid/CPR certified.  We provide a no cost opportunity for First Aid/CPR training during staff training week that medics are welcome to take advantage of if their certification is not up to date. 

Worship Leaders

Ideal worship leaders are 18 and over, love working with kids, have experience leading worship and/or camp style music, and are available to be on site for at least one entire week of camp.  Most of our worship leaders play guitar, but we are open to other musical skills provided we can make them work logistically in the camp environment. 

The worship leader role varies slightly depending on the week of camp, but generally includes leading: fun songs for morning celebration, Bible/Sunday School style songs for Bible Study time, and worship music for our evening gathering.  Worship leaders should plan to plug into camp in other meaningful ways each day as well so that they can build relationships with the campers and staff.  This may include: eating with campers in the dining hall, leading a workshop or activity, spending time with campers at the pool, etc.

Lifeguards

No prior certification needed.

Qualified lifeguards are 15 and over, can swim 200yd, tread water (legs only) for 2min, and complete a timed test (swim-surface dive-swim with 10lb weight).  In addition, they love working with kids, enjoy the outdoors, feel called to serve in a Christian community, have a positive work ethic, have a mindset that welcomes diversity and inclusion, are available to work most weeks in the months of June and July, and LOVE TO HAVE FUN!!

Lifeguards will be guarding at the pool, riverfront, and during canoe trips.  Pay starts at $10 an hour.  The schedule consists of 2-3hrs in the afternoon and some morning time slots depending on the camp schedule.
 
Lifeguards are required to have their state mandated PA child protection clearances on file in addition to their Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certification.  We will provide a no cost opportunity for Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR training during staff training week.
